4. Revenue, Expense, and Cash Flow Trends
These charts give you a 13 month (current month, 6 historical months and 6 projected months) and a 7 year (previous year, current year and 5 year projection) of our revenue, expenses and cash flows.
The data that feeds the charts from from 3 sources:
- Object Uploads: When you upload your leases, insurance, loans, property taxes and other objects, your revenue and expenses will start to automatically populate based on those objects. Learn more about those objects here.
- Forecasts: After you have uploaded your objects, you will see that the revenue and expenses associated with them will decline over time. That is because the associated objects have end dates, like a lease renewal or insurance expiration. Now that those are uploaded, you can create a forecast with a set of assumptions of how those objects should be projected into the future. When you create that forecast, you will see your future financials reflected in those charts. Learn more about forecasting here.
- Transactions (Actual Expenses): The last piece of the puzzle is to connect your bank account and match the actual expneses as they come in to the objects you uploaded. As you match the actualy expenses to the objects you were expecting from your object uploads, those expenses will override your object financials. You can also categorize and track other miscellenous expenses that aren't related to objects, such as repairs, travel or other expenses. Learn more about tracking your bank transactions here.
